Adelaide United is pleased to announce centre-back, Nick Ansell, has re-signed with the Club for the next two seasons.
The 28-year-old’s debut campaign with the Reds was limited to just three appearances after rupturing his right Achilles tendon in training in December last year.
However, Ansell has made great progress during his rehabilitation and is expected to return to full training when pre-season officially commences next month.
Speaking about penning a new deal with the Club, Ansell said: “To sign a new contract with Adelaide United and stay here at this Club, I’m over the moon.
“Ever since I arrived, the culture here has been fantastic and I’ve felt right at home.
“For the Club to put their faith in me after my Achilles injury for the next two seasons means a lot and I’m working really hard to get back to where I was before it.
“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season in particular and continuing to work with Carl (Veart) and the boys because we’re building something very promising and it’s exciting to be part of it.”
Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “Nick is a player we have always rated very highly and were having initial discussions about extending his time with us prior to his injury in December.
“While he did miss a very large portion of the season through that Achilles injury, we’re confident we’ll get to see the best of what Nick has to offer moving forward.
“We have a lot of faith in Nick’s abilities and love the experience he brings to our changeroom, so he’ll be a real asset to our side over the next two years.”
