After guiding Adelaide United to a maiden finals appearance in the Liberty A-League, Adrian Stenta has been recognised as the Coach of the Year.
The Reds finished the 2021/22 season in third place with nine wins and 27 points in what was also the Club’s most successful season to date.
Speaking at the Dolan Warren Awards last night in Sydney, Stenta was humbled to receive the accolade while reflecting on the recent campaign.
“It was a wonderful season,” Stenta said.
“Unfortunately, we just fell a little bit short in the finals and we felt like we had more to give and you know more to achieve in the season.
“But I understand in the context of our Club’s history in particular in this competition why, you know, it’s viewed as such a positive season overall.”
Stenta added: “It’s really been a long term project started before I got there… Without them, this wouldn’t have been possible.
“So I think this award is for everyone involved at the Club.
“But I’d also like to acknowledge my fellow coaches in the Liberty A-League Women’s competition.
“There’s some fantastic coaches out there and I’m really humbled really to be receiving this award and, I thank them for putting me forward for it.”
