Adelaide United is delighted to confirm Adriana and Melissa Taranto have re-signed with the Club for the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season.
The 27-year-old midfielders joined the Reds from Western United in September 2025 and quickly became regulars in Theo Tsiounis’ side.
Adriana made 20 appearances in her first season in red, while Melissa featured 19 times, with both playing pivotal roles in driving Adelaide United to a second successive Finals qualification for the first time in the Club’s history.

Both players have also represented Australia at youth level, while Adriana made her senior Matildas debut in 2025 against Panama.
Adriana said she was excited to continue her journey with the Club.
“I’m so excited to sign with Adelaide again for another season,” Adriana said.
“The Club gave me an opportunity when things were tough, and I’ll always be grateful to Theo and the staff for trusting me as a player and as a person.
“I’ve loved my first season in red. The players and fans have been incredibly welcoming, and I’m excited to build on the strong foundation we’ve created.”

Melissa said she was proud to recommit after a memorable first season in South Australia.
“It’s been a really special first season at Adelaide, and I’m so happy to be staying for another year,” Melissa said.
“From the moment we arrived, the Club, the players and the fans made us feel so welcome, and that support has meant a lot.
“We achieved something important this season, but there’s still so much more we want to do. This Club is growing, and I’m excited to keep helping push it forward.”
Football Director, Mitch van Gellekom, said retaining Adriana and Melissa Taranto was an important outcome for Adelaide United.
“Adriana and Melissa made an immediate impact in their first season with the Club and quickly became important members of Theo’s squad,” van Gellekom said.
“Their experience, quality and professionalism were clear throughout the campaign, and both played an important role in helping the team achieve back-to-back Finals appearances.
“We’re delighted they have committed for another season and look forward to seeing them continue to contribute to the growth of our program.”
