Jordy Thomassen reveals he is eager to experience his first match on the hallowed turf of Coopers Stadium when Adelaide United host Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday.
The Dutchman made his debut for the Club against Melbourne City last round, playing the entire 90 minutes in first professional game outside the Netherlands.
Thomassen said he enjoyed the occasion against a tough opponent.
“It was a really good experience, it was a tough game,” he said at a press conference.
“I think we took a good result, a 1-1 draw, especially against City and now I’m looking forward to the game Saturday.”
Thomassen was content with his own performance, considering the short time to adapt in a new country, but intimated he can improve.
“It was a tough game playing for ninety minutes,” he explained, when asked to assess his own display.
“I think it was not my best performance because it was my first game, my first week here.
“It was a hot week and I had to adjust to a lot of things, but it was not too bad for my first game.”

The 25-year-old was in the stands when Adelaide made history after rallying from 3-0 down to record a thrilling 4-3 victory against Brisbane Roar nearly two weeks ago.
“I’m really excited to play on Saturday,” he exclaimed.
“I saw the game at home, it was a really nice game to see.
“There was a good crowd in the stadium and they acted like the 12th man.”
Adelaide are also unbeaten in nine of their previous 10 matches and Thomassen was confident that trend would continue, praising his teammates.
“I think in every position, we’ve a good player,” he said.
“Whether it be the full-backs, the centre-backs, we’ve the midfield players in the right positions, we’ve good wingers and I hope I can be the (starting) striker.
“You can see that we run for each other and we work for each other so it’s a good thing.”
