The priority period for tickets for the Reds’ Round of 16 match against Nagoya Grampus is now open.
The priority period for existing Adelaide United FC members and season ticket holders to purchase tickets for the Reds- knockout AFC Champions League Round of 16 match against Nagoya Grampus on Tuesday 29 May 2012 is now open.
Adelaide United 2011/12 members and season ticket holders have been given first chance to secure tickets for the highly anticipated showdown, with the priority period running from 12pm today until 5pm Wednesday 20 May 2012.
Tickets will then go on sale to the general public from 9am Thursday 24 May 2012.
For the second time in three years, Adelaide will host a Round of 16 match after the Reds won the right to host a do-or-die clash at Hindmarsh Stadium when they finished top their group at the end of the Group Stage.
Adelaide United was edged out 3-2 by Jeonbuk Motors in a Round of 16 extra time thriller back in 2010 and the Reds will be determined to be on the right side of the ledger this time around as they look to continue their giant killing run in 2012 and try to replicate the phenomenal efforts which saw the club reach the Final in 2008.
A crowd of over 12,000 saw the match against Jeonbuk, and with the Reds again having the benefit of playing a do-or-die clash at home, United Coach John Kosmina has emphasised just how much of an advantage a boisterous home crowd is.
“It makes a huge difference. If we get the fans to turn out and support us it will make it even better,” Kosmina said.
“If we get the Adelaide United supporters behind us like they have been in the past, they are like that 12th man that Ross Aloisi used to talk about all the time.”
The winner of the Round of 16 match will progress to the Quarter Finals in September, while for the loser, their AFC Champions League campaign will be over.
Ticket prices for the knockout encounter remain the same as the club-s three Group Stage matches, with prices starting at $24 for a pre-purchase* adult Red general admission ticket.
