Adelaide United Chairman Greg Griffin meets with FC Barcelona officials during holiday break

While the Reds playing group and coaching staff were on a well earned break, Club Chairman Greg Griffin also took the opportunity to visit Spain and spend some time at FC Barcelona headquarters to discuss all things football with key members of the Board of the famous Spanish club.

During the visit, Mr. Griffin had the opportunity to meet with FC Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu, and Director David Bellver. Mr. Bellver had recently spent some time in Adelaide over the Christmas period visiting the Reds offices and training to catch up with familiar faces in Josep Gombau, Guillermo Amor and Pau Marti whilst also meeting with Mr. Griffin, CEO Michael Petrillo and other members of the Board.

The Reds have established strong links with the Catalan giants through our coaches Josep Gombau, Pau Marti and Guillermo Amor, and recent reciprocal visits by members of the respective Boards will enable Adelaide United to build on these relationships and benefit from the vast knowledge and standing of FC Barcelona within the world game.

The team returns to training this week in preparation for the upcoming match against Newcastle Jets on Saturday 24 January 2014. Kick-off 4:30pm. Click here to purchase tickets
