Adelaide United has drawn 3-3 with Melbourne City at AAMI Park on Sunday afternoon.
Despite the result, the match’s most significant moment was a serious leg injury to Juande, which stopped the match for approximately 30 minutes while the Spaniard received treatment.
Juande was eventually taken to hospital for further assessment.
Goals to George Blackwood, Ryan Kitto, and Craig Goodwin but the Reds in a commanding position, leading the match 3-1 at half time.
Blackwood opened the scoring in the first minute of play, cooly slotting home from within the 18-yard-box after Ethan Alagich played him in space.
City equalised before Ryan Kitto nodded home a glanced header from Javi López, who met a Goodwin corner expertly.
United did well to control the game and maintain their lead with Goodwin scoring his 50th goal for United in the 43rd minute after some lacklustre defending by the hosts.
City pulled a goal back early in the second half just prior to Juande’s serious injury and converted a late penalty in second half stoppage time.
