Veart and Aloisi agree to contract extensions with Reds

Adelaide United is delighted to announce Head Coach, Carl Veart, and Assistant Coach, Ross Aloisi, have agreed to one-year contract extensions with the Club.

The Club legends will now lead the Reds until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Veart returned to the Reds in 2019 as an assistant before serving as interim boss for the last five games of the 2019/20 campaign.

Soon after, Veart assumed the role on a permanent basis and guided Adelaide to a Finals appearance in his first full season in charge.

Meanwhile, Aloisi returned to South Australia in September last year having previously been an assistant at Brisbane Roar.

Veart said he was thrilled about signing a new deal with the Reds: “It was an easy decision for me to extend with the Club and I’m grateful for the faith shown in Ross and myself.

“We took positive strides forward in 2020/21 and ultimately finished one game shy of reaching the Grand Final.

“We still have a lot of unfinished business, but this young, talented squad will only continue to improve and be better in the long run.

“We have begun planning for next season where we hope to strengthen in certain areas and mount another title challenge while also defending the FFA Cup.”

Speaking on his extension, Aloisi said: “I’m very happy here in Adelaide working with Carl and our very talented playing group.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time since returning and it’s a special group with a lot of potential.”

Chief Executive Officer, Nathan Kosmina, added: “To provide Carl and Ross the opportunity to build upon the foundations they have laid is a logical step in facilitating longer term success for our A-League team.

“The impact of COVID-19 on the league last season shouldn’t be understated, yet Carl and his coaching staff enabled the team to not only remain extremely competitive, but to also challenge for a Grand Final berth – an exceptional outcome.

“Coupled with the continued development of a very talented group of young South Australian players, we believe the future is bright under Carl and Ross’ leadership.

“Both coaches have also been instrumental in rebuilding our culture and values and establishing a strong team identify which remains a primary focus for the Club.”
