Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, was left pleased with his team’s performance against Melbourne Victory on Sunday afternoon.
Veart’s introduction of Nestory Irankunda on the hour mark proved decisive to the final outcome of the match, the 17-year-old forward unleashing an unstoppable effort into the back of the net to tie-up proceedings.
Speaking post-match to Paramount+, Veart was typically honest with his outlook on the match.
Veart said:
“I’m very pleased with my team.
“I thought they placed some really good football.
“Victory are a difficult side to play against and I’m very happy with our performance today.
“(The penalty decision) is a tough one to take.
“My opinion is that the only people who thought it was a penalty were the ones making the decision.
“(Nestory) is a very rare talent and we know that and we’re looking after him.
“He’s the type of player that makes me smile, so hopefully he can go on and reach his potential because his potential is unbelievable.”
