Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, was left frustrated and disappointed with the two points his side dropped against Brisbane Roar on Friday evening.
George Blackwood’s second-half headed goal was cancelled out by Jay O’Shea from the penalty spot deep into injury time towards the end of the match, meaning the two sides were forced to share the points.
This was following Javi López appearing to foul Carlo Armiento and also Isaías being given his marching orders for a second yellow card.
Speaking to Paramount+ post-game, Veart gave his overall thoughts on the game.
Veart said:
“I’m disappointed.
“We pretty much threw away two points after we pretty much dominated the game for the whole 90 minutes.
“They defend very well and make it very difficult for you, but we need to be better and in some of those critical moments.
“Players make mistakes and that’s all it is, just a couple of careless mistakes.
“That’s part of football.
“We’re a team, so we all take responsibility for that, but we should have killed the game off when we had the opportunities.
“To come away to Brisbane and get a point, you’ve got to be happy because it is difficult to come here and get points.
“So in that regard, we’re happy that we’ve got something from the game but just disappointed that we didn’t get everything from the game.”
