Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, was left feeling delighted for his team after they saw-out a tough match against Macarthur on Friday night.
Veart’s side went down to ten men early in the first half, however had already taken the lead through Zach Clough’s deft finish from close range.
Veart praised his side’s desire to see-out the match, telling Paramount+’s Max Burford they were justly rewarded for a dedicated shift.
Veart said:
“It certainly is a relief (to win the match).
“It was a very tough night for the boys tonight, but they showed great spirit and dug in and got the three points.
“I’m very happy for them because they got rewarded for the hard work they put in.
“It’s a testing season, certainly, but we’ll look at the positives from tonight and move forward.
“Before the send off, even though it was quite (early in the match), I thought we were playing some really good football and we created some really good chances that we should have scored.
“After that it was just the spirit and the fight from the players.
“Winning breads confidence and we’ve won tonight.
“There’s no bigger test next week than away to Melbourne City, so we’ll recover from tonight and then bounce into next week.”
