Carl Veart admitted he would like to have collected more points after three Isuzu UTE A-League 2021/22 matches.

It was honours even in Brisbane after Adelaide United and the Roar played out a 0-0 draw.

Veart felt that both teams had “good chances” which neither side could convert.

“There were some good chances for both teams that both teams didn’t take,” he told the media in the post-match press conference.

“We’re disappointed I think we had a lot of control of the game, a lot of possession and just weren’t clinical enough in the final third.

“But it was tough conditions there, the first-half especially it was quite humid and hot.”

It is the first time the Reds have started the season with three consecutive draws since the 2007/08 campaign.

Veart said he was not worried by the team’s winless start, rather taking a more optimistic outlook though acknowledged they must capitalise on their dominant periods.

“We’ve had three tough games to open the season,” he said.

“Away to Perth, home to the champions, then away to Brisbane. They’re our two biggest away trips, so we’ve got them out the way which is good.

“And to pick a point up in all those games it’s pleasing in that regard. It would’ve been nicer to have had some three points because in all three games we’ve had control of those games, we just have to better when we’re in control of games.”

Isaías was substituted at half-time as a precaution.

Veart said he will be assessed in the coming days and is hopeful the experienced Spaniard will be available for the Original Rivalry clash against Melbourne Victory on Saturday.

“There was a little bit of an injury concern, he was a little bit sore this week after last week’s game,” he said.

“So it was a precaution that we didn’t want to risk anymore damage and we’ll see how it settles down over night and see how he pulls up tomorrow.”

He added: “He’s a very important player to us and we can’t afford to take too many risks with him.”
