Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, has previewed his side’s Round 2 match against Macarthur FC from the Adelaide Airport.

Prior to boarding his flight to New South Wales, Veart spoke with media and gave his thoughts on Sunday’s encounter with the Bulls.

Ibusuki and Irankunda:
“Hiroshi is a very important player on our team and it was difficult without him last week.

“But, in saying that, we still had enough opportunities last week to win the game and he’ll definitely provide a little bit more firepower for us up front.

“Nestor has only been back training this week.

“So he’ll travel with the group and I’m sure he will play some minutes in the game.”

Chances of a Goodwin start:
“(Yes, he) was fit enough last week as well.

“Craig is a very fit player, even though he’s hasn’t had a very big pre-season.

“We definitely have a path for him to get to himself selected for that Socceroos squad and we’re still on that path.”

Taming the Bulls:
“Look, they’re very good side.

“They’ve had some good form in the Australia Cup and going away to Brisbane (Roar), it’s difficult conditions in Queensland.

“They struggled a little bit with their cohesion in the front half last week (against Roar), but with the quality that they’ve got, if you give them a couple of opportunities, they’ll punish you.

“So it’s important that we don’t give space for (Ulises) Dávila, or (Daniel) De Silva, or (Daniel) Arzani, or Al Hassan (Toure) because, if you do, you’re going to be in for a very long afternoon.”

Learning from last week’s downfalls:
“That’s the hardest part of the game – scoring goals.

“We were fortunate enough that, I think, what we had 40 crosses or something like that last week, so that’s a positive.

“Now it’s just a matter of making those entries better so we (can) get better opportunities to score goals.

“I’d rather it be that way of getting the balls in the box than not getting the balls in the box.”
