Adelaide United Women goalkeeper, Sarah Willacy, is not one to rest on her laurels.

The shot-stopper arguably enjoyed her best season with the Reds, establishing herself as the undisputed number one, producing countless saves.

Willacy started all 12 matches last campaign and while she was pleased with her form she said she can be better.

“I’m definitely using last season as a starting point,” she said after re-signing with the Club for the upcoming Westfield W-League 2019/20 season.

“I really want to build on that because I think I didn’t play to the best of my ability so I think I can improve and play much better this upcoming season.

“I definitely want to have another consistent season, but obviously I want to build on what I did last season.”

The 24-year-old made 51 saves from 70 shots she faced at a success rate of 73% on her way to recording four clean sheets.

Willacy, who debuted for the Reds in 2016, said she was looking forward to begin the new campaign and praised Head Coach, Ivan Karlović for creating a strong team culture.

“I’m definitely excited for the season,” she continued.

“Ivan is a great coach.

“He’s got a good philosophy and it’s a really positive environment.”

Willacy spent the off-season with West Adelaide in the local Women’s National Premier League and has amassed a total of 26 appearances with her hometown team.
