On Wednesday Night the Adelaide United Youth Team will travel to the Hawk’s Nest to take on Adelaide Hills in the opening round of the NPL 2015 State League Season.

The Young Reds will make history, becoming the first ever squad from Adelaide United to debut in the State League. Captain of the team Jordan Pudler said there is excitement building around the club and believes the team is mentally and physically ready for battle.

“We are very excited because it’s the first time Adelaide United has been in the local league so we are hoping to do well (in the league) and improve ourselves as a squad, but most importantly start the season off with a win”.

“In terms of our playing style we don’t have to do anything different, we just need to be physical and make sure we keep the ball for most of the game and most importantly play to our structure”

The Young Reds in National Youth League have been impressive, only dropping points in two of their last 9 matches but tomorrow night marks the start of a busy schedule for the Baby Reds which will see them play 8 matches in 28 days.

“I think the squad is ready for this busy period because we have more than eleven players that are capable of playing first team.”

“Anyone on any day can step in and fill in if someone’s injured, so I reckon the depth of our squad will help us but everyone is looking forward to playing and doing their part for the team.”

The Young Reds are ready to get back to winning ways after consecutive defeats and Captain Jordan Pudler believes that the Adelaide Hills will be a good test to see where the team is at.

“We have to respect The Hawks just like any opposition, playing at their ground is always tough and they play good football.”

“We are all prepared for season tomorrow night and hopefully we can start well and get the three points.”
