A rampant Adelaide United Youth Team produced a master-class performance, defeating Eastern United 13-0 at the Elite Systems Football Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The Young Reds treated the spectators with a hugely impressive display, with marksman Doni Pollock scoring four goals, while Dylan Smith and Jordan Pudler both scored hat tricks.

Yianni Nestoras netted two goals and debutant Nick Polli scored his first goal for the first team.

Dylan Smith broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, after a lovely ball was played in by Antoni Trimboli which Smith was able to control and bury into the net.

Smith then doubled the advantage in the 37th minute. He latched onto a cross from Yianni Nestoras, which Smith took his defender to the side and shot the ball into the roof of the net.

Doni Pollock made it 3-0 on 43 minutes after a sublime through ball by Adam Piscioneri, allowed Pollock a one on one opportunity with keeper Fabio Migliaccio tucking the ball into the bottom corner.

Dylan Smith then brought up a first half hat trick, passing the ball into an unguarded net after a low driven cross by Trimboli making it 4-0.

Six minutes after the restart, Pollock scored his second goal after some lovely interchange between him and Smith allowed him an easy finish just inside the 18 yard box.

Two minutes after Jordan Pudler joined in on the act comfortably converting his penalty giving the Young Reds a 6-0 advantage.

Pollock then brought up his hat trick, when Daniel Margush sent a through ball to Antoni Trimboli which he shot from an acute angle forcing Migliaccio to push the ball into the stride of Pollock smashing in the seventh goal.

The Young Reds became more confident as the game went on. Dyan Smith turned provider after a lovely weighted ball to the back post, saw Yianni Nestoras un-marked in which he headed into goal making it 8-0.

From then on the Young Reds controlled the game scoring another 4 goals bringing up their largest win of the season.

Playmaker for the Young Reds, Dylan Smith, stated he was happy with the team’s performance especially in taking their opportunities which they haven’t done as of late.

“In first 15 minutes the game was a bit slow and hard to get into,” said Smith.

“But from then on we were able to open them up a bit, as they liked to play out from the back so after a while we wore them down and were able to score a few goals.”

Also marksman Doni Pollock believes the team was brilliant and was happy to get amongst the scoring.

“It was a great feeling to win and score lots of goals,” said Pollock.

“Obviously, it’s also nice to play at home on our pitch so we will enjoy this win and move onto another tough side in Northern Demons next week.”
