Young Reds on the end of second consecutive seven-goal thriller

The Young Reds went down in a second consecutive 3-4 scoreline to Melbourne Victory Youth in round 8 of the Foxtel Y-League 2017/18 Season in what was a game filled to the brim with goals.

Adelaide were unlucky to not come away with three points after going two goals up early in the first half.

The opener was scored by Kyle Crout in the 10th minute, with Crout redirecting the ball into the back of the net with his head.

Ninko Beric gave the boys a two-goal lead after some more great play from Crout on the right wing.

Melbourne Victory’s Pierce Waring was able to pull one back for his team at the 28th minute mark sparking a comeback that was compete before half-time.

The first half saw 6 goals between both teams respectively as Birkan Kirdar of Melbourne Victory scored in the 31st to level proceedings.

Two quick goals from Peirce Waring completed his hattrick to put Melbourne two goals ahead on the day.

The second half saw both teams fighting for the three points as Adelaide knocked on the door to get back in the game.

Finally, late in injury time Ninko Beric scored his brace to pull back one and give Adelaide hope, but unfortunately that was how the game would end, 3-4 to Melbourne Victory.
