Young Reds face Olympic

The Adelaide United Youth Team will play Adelaide Olympic in Round 8 of The NPL State League at the Elite Football Systems on Saturday night.

In what seems to be an eagerly anticipated match up, Adelaide United will look to keep hold of top spot on the ladder, while Adelaide Olympic aim to progress further up the table from 7th position.

After a dominant display last week beating Playford Patriots 5-0, winger Antoni Trimboli who netted a brace feels excited heading into the match and believes Adelaide Olympic will not be an easy opposition to play against.

“Tomorrow night’s match has a bit of importance, as they (Adelaide Olympic) are a top team with good players all round. So it will be a real test for us boys against a good outfit like Olympic,” said Trimboli.

“We are feeling quite fit and healthy after last week’s result and we obviously took a lot of confidence out of that, so we are prepared and ready to play”.

Antoni Trimboli has flourished as of late, not only scoring goals but creating opportunities for fellow team mates in and around the box. Trimboli puts his success down to the instructions given by the coaches as well as self-belief.

“The coaches want us to attack teams, obviously at the right times, but I like to express myself on the field and I love running at players and taking them on, which is one of my strengths I can bring to the team”.

Trimboli who departs to Spain on Sunday to take part in the 2015 Mediterranean International Cup, is confident about the group and is ready to play some of the best teams in the World.

“We are heading into the tournament as a young squad, so we are ready to play teams like Barcelona and for us it’s a time to relish the opportunity and soak in what the trip presents us with,” said Trimboli.

“Ultimately though we want to remain top of The NPL ladder, so if we are able to get the points tomorrow night it will be a big helping hand for when our next game is in a couple weeks’ time”.

The Young Reds, who currently sit top of the ladder leading Adelaide Victory by one point, will need nothing but a win as they head into a break which will see them face up against Western Strikers on the 15th April.

“If we are able to play to the system tomorrow night and get the points, we will head into the break confident and refreshed come our next match in a fortnights time.”
