On Sunday morning the Adelaide United Youth Team host the FFA Centre of Excellence in Round 13 of the the Foxtel National Youth League.
The last time these two teams met the Young Reds displayed a dominant performance coming home 4-0 winners.
Even though the team sit at the bottom of the table Coach Michael Valkanis believes every game is difficult.
“Of course all games will be difficult regardless. So if you don’t turn up in the right frame of mind, no game is easy,” said Valkanis.
“The FFA Centre of Excellence are suppose to be the best in Australia and will always have a point to prove, and they will want I show they are the best.
And with a couple of weeks off, it hasn’t just been a holiday for the team.
“We’ve had one week off and the rest of the time we’ve been working,” said Valkanis.
“We tried to play some games during the break…and at the same time they have been working hard especially over the first week.
“In the second week we’ve been working more on the concepts and style.”
And entering the break in good form going five games undefeated, Valkanis is confident that the team will continue on.
“The boys are very comfortable playing our style at the moment.
Hopefully they continue what they were doing from where they left off.
“They were five games unbeaten and were doing extremely well into the break.”
Adelaide United Youth Team will take on the FFA Centre of Excellence this Sunday morning at the Adelaide Football Shores Sports Complex. Kick-off 11:00am. Free entry.
