After an enthralling final round, the top six places are locked in, as the countdown begins to a highly-anticipated Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Finals Series.
Adelaide United has booked a Semi Final spot after scoring an injury-time winner in the final game of the regular season, to beat Melbourne City FC 2-1 at AAMI Park, and jump into second place after an action-packed final day of the regular season.
The result is also expected to secure Adelaide’s play-off spot in the AFC Champions League Elite competition, as the Reds went undefeated in their final ten matches to finish second and earn the week off.
The Reds are joined in the Semi Finals by first-time Premiers, Newcastle Jets, who locked in a week off after their historic, table-topping season in the Isuzu UTE A-League. The Jets will look to complete a league-first domestic treble as they begin their campaign in the second week of the Finals Series against the lowest placed Elimination Final winner.
The first week of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Finals Series will see two blockbuster Elimination Finals.
Auckland will host Melbourne City FC in the first Elimination Final with last season’s Premiers taking on the reigning Champions at Go Media Stadium on Saturday 2 May as the two clubs go head-to-head for the first time in the Finals Series.
Melbourne Victory will host Sydney FC in a massive Big Blue at AAMI Park in the second Elimination Final on Saturday night. This will be the first time the foundation clubs will face each other in the Finals Series since the Isuzu UTE A-League 2019 Semi Final.
A-Leagues CEO, Steve Rosich said: ”What an exciting finish to an incredibly even regular season that saw second to sixth place change through the final weekend of the season.”
“It sets up the most competitive Finals Series in recent years, with two eagerly anticipated Elimination Finals matches between fierce rivals, with Adelaide United and first-time Premiers Newcastle waiting in the wings.”
“We’ve kept our biggest games of the year affordable with Adult tickets to the Elimination Finals starting from $35 and Semi Finals from $40, while Junior tickets are just $10 across the first three weekends of the Finals Series.”
“Fans in Australia and New Zealand will also be able to catch every minute of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Finals Series across Network 10, Paramount+ and Sky Sports.”
The two-legged Semi Finals will be played in the second and third weekends in May, with the top two teams choosing to host the second leg at home. The highest placed team from the regular season that qualifies for the Grand Final will earn the right to host the Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Grand Final to be played on the weekend of 23-24 May.
Tickets for the Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Elimination Finals, and Newcastle and Adelaide United’s home Semi Final second legs, go on sale on Tuesday 28 April.
