Adelaide United have been prevalent in the community over the past couple of weeks.
Here is a recap of what we have been up to:
School Holiday Clinics
During the recent term 3 school holidays Adelaide United launched two football clinics which were run by Reds legend, Marcelo Carrusca. In the first week of the holidays, Jack Smith Park, home of West Torrens Birkalla, played host to the first three-day clinic with the second clinic occurring a week later at Ridley Reserve West in Elizabeth.
A combined 111 participants attended the clinics which were deemed a huge success by parents with the kids receiving a full Adelaide United Macron Training kit and learning new skills and techniques. Several Adelaide United players also made an appearance, signing autographs and answering questions.
Keep an eye out on our website about future clinics over the summer.
Kaurna Plains Football Program
As part of the Sporting Schools initiative a community coach from Adelaide United runs a free weekly program for up to 40 students. The sessions focus on personal development as well as students working on improving their skills.
Kaurna Plains School Aboriginal Community Engagement Officers, Jordan Wilson-King and Luke Wilson, said: “We here at Kaurna Plains School have been extremely excited to have Adelaide United in conjunction with OneCulture Football on board to host our Sporting Schools Football Program here for Term 4.
“The program has been tailored to introduce and teach the sport of Football to our students from Reception grade through to Year 6 every Friday until the end of the term, which has been really successful.
“Through programs such as this and also given the presence that Adelaide United have in the Playford area, we hope it will encourage children to play the sport of Football at the grassroots level and possibly even play for local clubs through to elite ranks.
“All teachers have stated how much of a positive impact this program is having with our students and especially with Aladdin who is a great advocate for the sport of Football.
“Kaurna Plains School would like to thank Adelaide United and OneCulture Football for this program and hope that this relationship will only continue to build in the future.”

Adelaide United also works closely with One Culture Football, an organisation which provides an opportunity for participants to build ties within the community through their multicultural and disability programs
In addition, Bedford will also be our Round 8 matchday partner when we take on Wellington Phoenix. Part of that will include the opportunity to be involved with the coin toss as well as playing small sided games during half-time.
