FFA Head of Leagues, Greg O’Rourke, is excited to release the latest edition of the Hyundai A-League draw.
“The Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season draw is all about accessibility for fans whether at the ground or through our broadcast partners,” said O’Rourke.
“This is the product of genuine collaboration of all stakeholders of the game. The outcome is a draw that delivers the best games, at the best grounds, at the best times for our fans.
“You will also see that we have moved match kick-off times earlier to encourage better fan engagement across the league.
“Along with all the traditional derbies and rivalries, we will see the welcome return of the Western Sydney Wanderers to Bankwest Stadium and with the addition of Western United to the competition we are confident that new rivalries will emerge.
“One particular feature worth mentioning will be the rebel Play Football Round (Round 18) which will be a bona fide blockbuster round with a Melbourne Derby, Sydney Derby and an F3 Derby on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
“Our discussions with potential free to air broadcasters are ongoing and we hope to have a positive announcement before the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season commences.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Hyundai A-League clubs, PFA and FOX SPORTS for their valuable input and support to produce what we believe is the optimal competition format for the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season.
“With the clubs recruiting well during the off-season, I know that I speak for all fans when I say I am genuinely excited about the start of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season on 11 October,” said O’Rourke.
