Don-t miss the chance to see Adelaide United take on a South Australian State Select Team this Wednesday night at Burton Park.
With the 1st Leg of their ACL Quarter Final against Bunyodkor just over a month away and the start of the Hyundai A-League 2012/13 Season less than two months out, the Reds are beginning to ramp up their preparations.
Hosted by Football Federation South Australia, the match will see John Kosmina-s men go head to head with a host of the State-s best football talent under the guidance of former Adelaide United captain Ross Aloisi and former United Youth Team boss Joe Mullen.
While the hit out will be an opportunity for the Reds to continue fine tuning their on field cohesion, it will also be the first opportunity for supporters to see Argentinean midfielder Marcelo Carrusca in action. The Reds- other new South American signing Jeronimo Morales Neumann is yet to arrive in Adelaide.
“It has been a fortnight since our last competitive hit out against Comets and this game against the State Team really signals the start of a crucial four weeks leading up to September 19 against Bunyodkor,” Kosmina said.
“We-re expecting a really tough game because the players lining up for the State Team will be determined to show what they-ve got while also representing the best of what local South Australian football has got to offer.”
“For us it will be about getting some valuable game time into the players and working towards the level we need to get to in order to be at our best for the ACL Quarter Final.”
Kick-Off is at 7.30pm and entry is free, however there will be an opportunity for patrons to make a donation to the Women-s & Children-s Hospital Foundation at the ground. There will also be a Women-s Premier League Cup Semi Final kicking off on an adjacent pitch at 6.30pm.
Following the game against the State Team, the Reds- next trial match to be played in Adelaide will be against reigning Hyundai A-League champions Brisbane Roar on Friday 7 September at Hindmarsh Stadium.
