Adelaide United can officially confirm the mutual termination of Michaël Maria’s contract with the Club.
Initially signing a two-year deal with the Club in July 2019, Maria departs the Reds following the global uncertainty related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Michaël decided it was best for him and his family to return home,” Adelaide United Director of Football, Bruce Djite, said.
“As a football club, we understand and respect Michaël’s decision and thank him for his efforts throughout his time with the Reds.”
Speaking on his departure, Maria said: “I am sad to be leaving Australia and Adelaide United, but I want to thank everyone at the Club for welcoming me the way they did.
“I really enjoyed my time in Adelaide, and I am very proud that we were able to win the FFA Cup.
“I hope Adelaide United can be very successful in the future and wish the team well for the rest of this season.”
