At the official launch of the A-Leagues seasons on Tuesday, Adelaide United Captain, Isabel Hodgson, spoke to media to give her thoughts ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Excitement building:
“I’m very excited (for the new season) and, if anything, I’m getting more excited every day.
“Coming out here (to the event) today has really put on the pressure, but I’m looking forward to it.”
“Obviously COVID affected a lot of clubs and a lot of people, but it’s fantastic now that that’s kind of in the past and we’re looking forward to getting some consistent games (played).”
This season’s goals and “football friends”:
“I think for us, as a team, we made finals last year for the first time, so that’s something we want to repeat.
“But everyone wants to (win the competition), so that would be a goal (too).”
“(At today’s event) we’re all friends and we all get along.
“We’ve been playing together in the league, for the majority of us, for a long time.
“Obviously we all play football and have a lot in common, but when you cross that line the friendships go out the window a little bit and you get down to play.”
