NPLSA Round 22 Recap: Young Reds’ season ends in defeat
Adelaide United Youth endured a 4-0 loss to close out the 2021 campaign against Cumberland United at Bailey Reserve on Saturday night. Thomas Briscoe inspired his team to victory, netting a hat-trick in the final 13 minutes of the first-half before scoring a fourth in the 90th minute to consign the Young Reds to their heaviest defeat of the year. The veteran striker opened the scoring via the penalty spot in the 34th minute before the floodgates opened.

Venue confirmed for Reds’ FFA Cup Round of 32 clash
The FFA Cup 2021 Round of 32 got underway last week, with Brisbane Roar and Gold Coast Knights cementing their place in the last 16. The action continues in Queensland on Tuesday 21 September with Brisbane-based Lions FC hosting Football NT's Casuarina FC, before moving from East coast to West coast with the Round of 32 continuing on in Perth. In an historic FFA Cup first, National Premier Leagues (NPL) side Floreat Athena will host A-League club Adelaide United on Sunday 26 September, which will be the first Round of 32 match played on a weekend.

Reds sign Ochsenham as Gauci injury replacement
Adelaide United can advise it has signed goalkeeper, Dakota Ochsenham, on a short-term deal as an injury replacement for Joe Gauci ahead of the 2021/22 season. The 21-year-old had previously been at the Club, having played 23 times at National Premier Leagues level, and was a substitute at A-League level last season. Gauci suffered a hip flexor injury with the Young Reds and is expected to miss the next 12 weeks.
